Does Disney World do anything special for Halloween day

Happy Halloween, everyone! The big day is finally upon us and if you're heading to any of the Disney World theme parks today, you may be wondering if you should expect anything special.

The biggest Halloween event at Disney World is Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. This is a special ticketed event at the Magic Kingdom featuring exclusive treats, shows and performances, parades and more.

This also means the park closes early today. The event takes place from 7:00 p.m to midnight, with ticketholders allowed to enter as early as 4:00 p.m.

So if you're headed to Magic Kingdom today and don't have a ticket to Mickey's No-So-Scary Halloween Party, you're going to have to leave a bit earlier, possibly even missing the park lit up at night. Don't worry though, because there are still plenty of Fall and Halloween decorations lining Main Street that you can enjoy during the day.

It should also be noted that Halloween also isn't the last time Magic Kingdom will shut down early due to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. There's one more event planned for Wednesday, November 1st. And after that, it's on to the Holiday parties at both Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios.

But really though, aside from Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, there's not much else going on at the parks in celebration of Halloween. You'll find some seasonal snacks, but these aren't exclusive to Halloween day. They've been available for a few months now.

It's a bit unfortunate that the other Disney World parks don't go all-out on Halloween, as the decorations are pretty lackluster. I just went a few weekends ago and you wouldn't have even been able to tell that it's Fall at the parks.

That being said, Halloween (and the Fall in general) is still a great time to visit the parks. The weather is a little bit cooler and the treats and drinks you can find are delicious.
