6. Casita Madrigal/Tropical Americas
Not much is detailed yet on this Encanto-themed ride, yet given that this was one of Disney’s biggest recent hits, it should be fun. It appears to be a classic dark ride, perhaps with a new story of the family, but expect the usual fun songs from the movie (we have to have Bruno’s song in there). It should be the focus of this new Animal Kingdom makeover, reviving the old Dinoland spot and showing how classic dark rides still work.
The entire Tropical Americas area looks good and better is Dinosaur will still be open for a bit to link to the past, making DAK a much better park for guests.
5. Cars In Frontierland
There is concern that the only way to make this work is to get rid of Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America. Still, the idea of Cars in Florida is exciting as the Cars Land section is the best part of California Adventure. Again, Disney isn’t just copying the DCA rides as the main race will be a different spin on it.
Better is a kid-friendly road rally race that will offset the larger ride and keep crowds better controlled. Again, some may be concerned about changing Frontierland for these yet adding Cars to the area means Big Thunder would no longer be the “wildest ride in the wilderness.”
4. DAK Indiana Jones
It’s always been amazing that Disney never adapted Disneyland’s hit Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye ride to Florida. That’s going to be fixed with this new DAK addition, replacing Dinoland USA. Thankfully, rather than just copy the California ride, Disney is taking advantage of new technology for a new ride with a fresh storyline and setting. Despite the rough reception to the last film, Indiana Jones is still one of the most popular characters around and a wilder take on this ride should fit the beloved adventurer and spark up a visit to DAK.
