If Disney ever makes a live-action Frozen, there’s one major Hollywood starlet who’s already jumping to play the role! Find out who!

It seems only a matter of time before Frozen joins the list of live-action adaptations of Disney animated hits. True, it’s only been a bit over a decade since the film came out but it’s been one of Disney’s all-time greatest successes with its now iconic songs and a huge merchandise seller to boot.

The movie did inspire a stage show at California Adventure as well as a Broadway musical with stage productions still running. It also got a shot in live-action on the ABC hit Once Upon a Time with Georgina Haig and Elisabeth Lali as Anna and Elsa appearing in the fourth season.

With a third film in the works, it appears inevitable that Disney might decide to make a live-action version. It could easily integrate new songs from the stage show with cutting-edge effects. The tricky part is finding the right actresses, as Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell wouldn’t quite fit a live version.

Now, one major starlet has thrown her hat into the ring to be Elsa: Anya Taylor-Joy. At just 28, the actress has already made a huge mark in Hollywood, breaking out in the horror films The Witch and Split. She won a Golden Globe and SAG award for The Queen’s Gambit mini-series and turns in The Northman, Amsterdam, The Menu, voicing Princess Peach in The Super Mario Bros Movie and Furiosa.

Speaking to Vogue Hong Kong, Taylor-Joy said she would adore doing a musical and being Elsa is a dream of hers.

"I really want to do a musical because I’m a little too obsessed with my current job. I love the challenge of completing impossible tasks. I think that’s incredibly motivating for me, so the idea of being able to sing, dance, and act at the same time is really exciting to me. I think Frozen is going to be great. Shooting ice cubes out of your hands can be a lot of fun. And, you’ll be the favorite at every kid’s birthday party. All my siblings have kids now, so I would love for them to be able to say, ‘My aunt is Elsa.’ That would be great!”"

Taylor-Joy would be perfect for Elsa. Her blonde hair and otherworldly appearance lend themselves well to the part and her work in big-budget fare shows she could handle the special effects with ease. Taylor-Joy’s singing hasn’t been shown too much, but she appears confident she could belt out a good tune to match “Let It Go” and the other songs. She also has a wonderful screen presence and the acting jobs to show Elsa's growth from quiet girl to a regal queen.

This is just a dream right now as there aren’t known plans for a live-action Frozen. However, if they do decide to green-light one, Taylor-Joy should be on the shortlist to make a wonderful Elsa.
