Where to buy Disney Lorcana: Rise of the Floodborn on launch day
Disney Lorcana: Rise of the Floodborn launch day is almost upon us! Although the second set of Ravensburger's collectible trading card game has been available for pre-sale at local game stores since mid-November, December 1st marks its worldwide release at mass retailers.
Disney Lorcana launched to massive demand in September, and has been nearly impossible to find at retailers ever since. While Ravensburger has promised restocks and a reprint, The First Chapter remains hard to find.
While we're hoping Ravensburger learned its lesson for Rise of the Floodborn, the pre-sale event on the gamemaker's website certainly didn't calm our concerns. So as we head into launch day, you may be wondering where you can buy Disney Lorcana: Rise of the Floodborn when it releases on December 1st. Here's a quick breakdown of every participating retailer and how to go about buying from them.
shopDisney
While nothing official has been announced, it's almost certain that shopDisney will be one of the online retailers for Disney Lorcana's second set. Disney's online store made The First Chapter available to buy at midnight (12 a.m. PST) on launch day, and we expect the same with Rise of the Floodborn. Set an alarm for 12:00 a.m. PST / 3:00 a.m. EST. It's on a guarantee, but it's worth waking up and check for five minutes.
Amazon
Amazon is the largest online retailer in the world and promises htat Rise of the Floodborn is "coming soon." They didn't take pre-orders for the second set, but they will almost certainly have starter decks and booster boxes available on launch day. We don't know how much supply they'll have but the fact they've had starter decks for The First Chapter available for pre-order for a few weeks now has us confident in their supply.
Target
Target had pre-orders for certain Rise of the Floodborn products, but they sold out immediately. It's possible they will have some avaliable online for purchase, but it's also worth checking out in store on December 1st. Supply and inventory, along with restock times, vary from store to store so we can't give you any definitive time to check.
Best Buy
Best Buy will have both Rise of the Floodborn and The First Chapter (boost packs) available for purchase starting December 1st. However, they are only conducting sales in-store, with no curbside or pickup available. The Best Buy website has a store locator as well as what will be available for purchase. They are limiting purchases to two of each item and 20 booster packs maximum.
Ravensburger website
Ravensburger tried to have a pre-sale event for Rise of the Floodborn online but it was a major disaster. A DDoS attack ruined the entire day and Ravensburger ultimately decided to end all sales of Disney Lorcana on its website.
Walmart
Walmart should have Disney Lorcana cards available for purchase both online and in-store. Some people have reportedly started seeing (and buying) Rise of the Floodborn cards in-store. Walmart's online store right now is flooded with resellers charging more than MSRP, but I'm going to assume that prices will be normal on release day (at least until they all sell out).
Others
Other retailers who sold The First Chapter and will likely have Rise of the Floodborn available include Barnes & Noble (in-store only), Hot Topic and FYE. Both Hot Topic and FYE have been taking pre-orders on Rise of the Floodborn booster packs but they do charge a bit more than MSRP.
Local Game Stores
Local game and hobby stores have had Rise of the Floodborn product since mid-November's pre-release. Many have already sold out, but be sure to check with your local game stores. Ravensburger has an online store locator for participating retailers.
