The first trailer for Andor season 2 promises the revolution is upon us in the Star Wars series!

Star Wars fans can be divisive, and many agreements and disagreements can be big. They can debate the merits of the movies, the sequels, and the franchise's direction.

But one thing almost all Star Wars fans can agree on? That Andor is easily the best part of the franchise since Disney purchased it in 2012. The series is a prologue to 2016's Rogue One, with Diego Luna reprising his role as Cassian Andor, who grows from a refugee to a member of the Rebel Alliance.

The show packs in the usual Star Wars action and themes. But what draws viewers in is the incredibly in-depth writing, character work, and political drama. It's watching the Rebellion slowly grow with Mon Mothma (Genevieve O'Reilly), secretly working to get funds to start the Rebellion with Luthen Rael (Stellan Skarsgard).

Even better, it shows the politics of the Empire with low-level officer Syril Karn (Kyle Soller) clashing with cold political operative Dedra Meero (Denise Gough). Watching this all unfold is enthralling.

After wrapping up its critically acclaimed first season in 2022, the show is finally back for another year and the trailer shows it's going to be fantastic!

It may be jarring to hear a rock song used for a Star Wars show. Yet it's also striking with Steven Earle's "The Revolution Starts Now" playing over clips of the various critical praise for the series.

We're thrust into some great action, including a captured TIE fighter blasting away at troopers and some chase scenes. Mon Mothama is shown in some kind of wedding ceremony while Karn and Meero are clearly plotting something.

Saw Guerrera (Forest Whitaker) is shown pressing the other Rebels to take the fight to the Empire while Adria Arjona's Bix gets more involved and open civil war is about to erupt.

Best of all, we're heading to the events of Rogue One with Andor meeting droid K-2S0, voiced by Alan Tudyk. We also see Ben Mendelsohn as Orson Krennic in that awesome cape overseeing the completion of the Death Star.

It ends with Cassian rocking a James Bond-like look at a fancy party as he asks, "You wanna fight or you wanna win?" That mantra is going to be the backbone of this season.

The season is taking a unique direction with Disney confirming that the 12 episodes will be released in three-episode chapters each week rather than episode-by-episode installments. It sounds like the chapter blocks jump ahead a year or two in time with Episode 12 to end right before Rogue One begins.

With the trailer's action and drama and the unique release structure, Andor is ready to be even bigger and better in its second season to cap off this fantastic chapter in the Star Wars saga!

Andor Season 2 premieres Tuesday, April 22 on Disney+.
