Sadie Sink has been cast in the next Spider-Man movie and the options for her role are plentiful!
Fans are eager for Spider-Man 4, which should be a new direction for the Wall-Crawler in the MCU. Following the events of 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home, the world has forgotten Peter Parker's secret identity, including best friends MJ and Ned. Thus, Peter (Tom Holland) is starting out as more of a Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
The plot details are tight, yet it's now confirmed that Sadie Sink will be joining the new movie. The actress is best known for her breakout role as Max on Netflix's hit Stranger Things and showed her acting chops in 2022's The Whale.
Adding her is intriguing, although there's a natural debate about who she could be playing. Speculation is high, so here's a rundown of the top suspects Sink could be playing in Spider-Man 4, which could bring new energy to the saga!
Mary Jane Watson

Okay, this could be a bit confusing to fans given we already have an MJ in Zendaya. However, that's Michelle Jones, not Peter's classic love interest. Given that Zendaya's busy schedule (and higher salary) might keep her out of the fourth film and that MJ no longer remembers Peter, this could be a chance for Mary Jane to enter the mythos.
It would be interesting as Peter would obviously be drawn to someone with the same initials. Sink has the red hair and vibrant spirit of Mary Jane and she and Holland would bond nicely. While adding another MJ seems a bit much, it's the most obvious choice of a character for Sink and finally gives the MCU the proper version of MJ that fans have loved for decades.
Black Cat

This feisty cat burglar stands out with her white hair, form-fitting outfit, and matching her name with a sly demeanor. She's also enjoyed a long on/off relationship with Spider-Man with the intriguing dynamic in that she loves the masked man but not regular Peter.
If Sink wanted to do a more athletic role, Felicia Hardy could fit her. The character is more an anti-hero than a pure crook who enjoys her games of banter and cat and mouse with Spider-Man. Sink could pull that off well and provide Spider-Man 4 with a great addition.
Spider-Gwen

This would require Sink to wear a blonde wig but it would be an obvious pick. Gwen Stacy was Peter Parker's first true love until her shocking murder at the hands of the Green Goblin. While the real Gwen has been long gone, a popular storyline introduced the Gwen Stacy of an alternate Earth where she was bitten by the radioactive spider. She crafted a costume to become Ghost Spider or Spider-Gwen as fans have called her.
The character was an instant hit, earning her own title, and continues to pop up in various books. She's also jumped to the screen in the Across the Spider-Verse movies and TV shows. An MCU entry is only a matter of time, and Sink is a good choice. Whether it's an alternate Gwen or the regular Earth's getting her own powers, Sink as Spider-Gwen would be a fun turn.
Jessica Drew

At the risk of reminding people of the disaster that was Madame Web, there have been several versions of Spider-Woman over the years. Jessica Drew was the first and to many, still the best. Her origins have shifted a lot so the movie may play on the simple idea she's a classmate of Peter's who gains her own powers and becomes his partner.
Sink would be fun in the part, showing her usual humor and the intriguing dynamic of Peter in the mentor role to her. Not to mention, seeing her in the outfit would be wonderful, making this a prime pick for Sink's Spider-Man 4 role.
Jean Grey

This is odd, yet fans are buzzing that Spider-Man 4 will introduce the X-Men into the MCU somehow. This means Sink is often cited as a top choice to play Jean Grey. The powerful telepath/telekinetic has been played in the X-Men movies by Famke Jannseen and Sophie Turner and Sink's experience in Stranger Things is a push for her to follow them.
She has the red hair, the strong acting, and is believable as the latest holder of the powerful Phoenix Force. The hiccup is using Spider-Man to bring in the X-Men, as they should have their own movie. However, it hasn't stopped fans from speculating that Sink is going to be Jean and lead into her own X-Men project.
Kitty Pryde

If not Jean Grey, there's another X-Men character that would fit Sink. Kitty Pryde is a hugely popular X-Man with her ability to phase through solid matter and walk through walls. Her never-say-die attitude and humor have won her legions of fans and an inspiration for the character of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
There is a connection as in the Ultimate Spider-Man comics, Kitty and Peter dated for a while. Kitty as a classmate of Peter's who comes into her powers and them having a connection would be a nice touch for the film. That makes Kitty another prime target for Sink.
Firestar

This could be a fun idea. Firestar was introduced back in the 1980s in the Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends cartoon and has since become quite a popular Marvel Heroine. She's spent time in the New Warriors and even an Avenger. Her powers of microwave flame allow her to fire and shoot fire, which would be a cool visual.
Given that link to Spidey, introducing Firestar would be a fun nod to the past. Having Iceman join is also natural, and Sink sure looks like the part with that hair. This could be a reach, but it is one of the best candidates for Sink's Spider-Man 4 role.
Teresa Parker

A 2014 graphic novel had Peter stunned to meet Teresa Parker, the sister he never knew he had. She was a CIA agent pulling him into an adventure against the Kingpin. It culminated in revealing their sibling bond was all a trick. However, it was later hinted that they were indeed brother and sister with Teresa helping Peter a few more times.
The MCU introducing this plot twist may be a bit too wild. Yet it could be an interesting dynamic with Peter learning about his secret agent parents and Teresa becoming an ally. Sink in a spy role would be more interesting than other characters and be a surprise to audience members not expecting the Spider-Man family to grow like this.
