A new wave of Bluey mania is about to hit the Disney Parks and Disney Cruise Line like a ton of bricks, and fans will absolutely flip. While that's great news for us Bluey buffs outside of her native Australia, it's going to drastically change our upcoming vacations.
It’s no secret that Bluey and Bingo are an asset to the mouse, but a deal with Disney could drastically change how we mix and mingle with our favorite characters both on and off the screen. While we wait for Mickey and Minnie to bring the pups to the happiest places on Earth, here are our predictions for how this partnership will turn the tide for Disney and Ludo.
Our Prediction for Bluey's Arrival
Just last week, The Walt Disney Company revealed that a new partnership with Ludo would be bringing new Bluey experiences to the parks, the Disney Cruise Line, and on the silver screen. Seeing as how the Australian animated series has been making waves on Disney+, it was only a matter of time before Disney welcomed the pups to the parks.
The official statement reads,
"The producers of Bluey, the multiple Emmy Award-winning Ludo Studio, are working closely alongside BBC Studios and Disney on a number of special activations for fans to enjoy. Details about how guests can meet Bluey and her family at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort will be shared in the months ahead."
That's all incredibly exciting, but it also means big changes are coming to the parks. Characters as iconic as Bluey and Bingo aren't just going to be slapped somewhere in the parks, and their long-predicted arrival means that they will attract a massive influx of both kids and their parents. The question is, how will Disney handle it?
If you think for a second Disney will stop at a Bluey and Bingo Meet and Greet at the parks, you are what we in the business like to call "wrong.” fans are getting ready to see an absolute Bluey boom, and that will significantly change their next vacation.
Fans can expect to see a massive increase in the show’s presence and profit. That’s great news for the House of Mouse but a potential hazard for future fans at the Disney Parks.
Regardless of where Disney puts their character queue, Bluey and Bingo are undoubtedly going to cause a massive stir amongst the crowds. Anytime a rare character comes out to meet the public, fans flock to them in droves.
In this writer's opinion, fans can expect a minimum of 45 minutes just to get a pic with the two pups. That said, the park wherever they are stationed might also expect a significant decrease in wait times for attractions as a consequence.
Although Disney has not said where we can expect to meet Bluey, the logical answer has to be the Disney Junior area of Hollywood Studios. It certainly makes the most sense, and Pluto seems to be the most expendable character currently occupying the space.
That said, the characters’ arrival might also foreshadow the opening of a new pavilion at EPCOT. Since the show is practically Australia’s biggest export apart from shrimp on the barbie, it makes total sense that Disney would want to invest in something with ties to the show’s homeland.
Keep in mind, this is all pure speculation from someone who has spent more than ample time with the Heeler family on his screen. Disney might still surprise us between now and then, and all we can do is watch.
Until Bluey and Bingo make their Disney Parks debut, all of their episodes can be streamed on Disney+ and ABC iView.
