Only weeks after striking a massive deal with The Walt Disney Company, Bluey is trading in her barky boats for LEGO bricks. A teaser on the show's official social media accounts gave fans the smallest sneak preview, but the imaginative possibilities are endless when it comes to LEGO.
As one of the most successful toy brands on earth, a deal with LEGO will do absolute wonders for the Bluey image, and it will only further establish the show's presence in our lives. With an expected fourth season, appearances at the Disney Parks, and a full-length feature film on the way, Bluey is one lucky dog.
Building with Bluey
As seen in the teaser above, Bluey and Bingo are getting ready to rebuild their world with a little help from fans and their friends at LEGO. While this is certainly an exciting merch opportunity, it also reflects just how much the series has stuck with audiences of all ages.
A report from Polygon shared the following statement,
"[LEGO] announced Thursday that six Bluey sets will be released in 2025. The sets haven’t been revealed yet — that will happen in the spring — but Lego said they will be part of its Duplo and 4+ lines, so they’ll definitely be simpler sets aimed at the show’s young audience. Lego teased the sets with an image and a cute video clip referencing at the iconic silhouettes and colors of blue heeler pup Bluey and her little sister Bingo."
For those of you still out of the loop, Bluey is an Australian animated series about a family of Blue Heelers—Bingo, Bluey, Chilli, and Bandit—and their imaginative, playful adventures. The show's creative and playful vibe makes it the perfect candidate for the world of LEGO.
Many argue that the beloved series is designed for older viewers as much as it is for kids. Ergo, it makes perfect sense that LEGO would release sets for both demographics. Even this writer can't help but wonder what the Heeler House would look like in brick form.
As Bluey continues her reign this year, it's a safe bet to say that this won't be the only element we see in the upcoming weeks. How long will it be till we see a Bluey-brand smart phone?
Bluey, Bingo, and all their pals can be found on Disney+ and ABC iView.
