The Disneyland Resort in Anaheim has been a jewel of the California tourism industry since the '50s, and it's easily one of the primary reasons people visit. However, recent news developments out of Southern California might have many rethinking their excursions.

Reports of ICE raids and immigration protesters engaging in violent confrontations with law enforcement have been circulating on social media since yesterday, and things are only intensifying as Present Trump sends forces to contend with an "unlawful assembly." Naturally, this could have a devastating impact on California's tourism, and Disney by extension.

Is Disneyland at risk?

If you're anything like this concerned Disney fan, you're already familiar with how social and political unrest can affect the parks. While the riots are taking place in the Los Angeles area, that's still not far from Disney property. Plus, with President Trump dispatching the National Guard, things could look like a combat zone in no time at all.

Although there is no projected danger in the Anaheim area, this isn't the first time in recent years that Disney has had to contend with violent protests just outside its front door. Just look at what went down in Orlando in 2023. Even so, travelers need to be extra cautious.

While it's indeed true that the riots are well outside of Disney's property, that doesn't mean potential Disneyland guests shouldn't be safety smart about their next trip. The best advice would be to keep an eye on news and traffic reports in the surrounding areas.

It should be stated that Disney has a phenomenal commitment to safety, and that security is one of the most comprehensive features in any of the Disney resorts. While riots outside of Anaheim might grow heated, the House of Mouse is still committed to the safety of its park patrons.

Although the story is still developing, Along Main Street will update as needed.
