When checking into a deluxe resort, guests can expect deluxe treatment, right? Not for this guest.

Visiting the Walt Disney World Resort is always a magical time, it's made all the more wonderful whenever guests stay at one of the many hotels on park property. However, one recent report shared something not exactly appropriate for an animated feature.

The Deluxe Resorts are a cut above the standard-issue places of lodging, and can easily run guests thousands of dollars with their added luxuries. So imagine the shock and horror when one guest found worse than just a cockroach in their bedroom.

Guest shares pics of human waste in Riviera Resort room

Disney's Riviera Resort offers the elegance of European style and design right in the middle of the magic. As one of the deluxe resorts, staying here is often one of the more luxurious (and pricier) options for a stay amongst the Disney theme parks.

With that in mind, it stands to reason that a Deluxe resort should have high presentation standards. That's not what u/Inevitable-Rough8028 found when they shared photos on Reddit's r/WaltDisneyWorld page.

WARNING: The images found at the link below might be upsetting to some fans.

On their original post (found here), the user shares several images of what appears to be human feces smeared across the walls of their resort room. The user also makes the following statement,

"We just checked into the Riviera Resort at Disney and were given an ADA room, which normally wouldn’t be an issue, except there was literal human waste smeared on the shower walls. We’ve been Disney fans and DVC members since the 90s, but this has completely ruined our experience."

"To make matters worse, they won’t move us to another room until tomorrow, so we were stuck here close to midnight while the cleaning staff is trying to “clean up” the situation. And the cherry on top? They’re standing around with gloves up to their elbows saying it’s “just shampoo.” Yeah, because shampoo definitely requires full hazmat treatment."

The guest is rightfully upset, but what's truly alarming to this writer is the legion of other users in the comments below sharing similar experiences. Many fans are saying how the Disney standard has, for lack of better words, gone down the toilet.

One comment that stuck out was u/forthewatch39 who writes,

"People need to stop paying. Disney may call itself magical, but it is just like every other large corporation. They don’t go above and beyond anymore if people keep accepting the cutbacks, but also agree to pay more for less services. The only way to make them bring back quality service is to stop giving them money until they do."

Things have definitely changed at the Disney resorts, even as recent as 2018, the magic is just different. Disney's reputation has taken a hit across the board over the past few years, and reports like these aren't doing the mouse any favors.

Do you think Disney is slipping in quality?
