Destination D23's "A Celebration of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow" panel was filled with tons of exciting news and announcements. From changes a major Dinoland overhaul to a revamp of Country Bear Jamboree, there's a lot for Disney fans to look forward to.
Over at EPCOT, we're getting a reimagining of Test Track, as well as Moana and Figment meet and greets. We also learned when the Journey of Water walkthrough will open.
We also finally got some details about the new nighttime spectacular that will be taking the place of the previous Harmonious (which I absolutely loved, by the way).
The new nighttime show at EPCOT will be called "Luminous The Symphony of Us." While exact specifics remain a surprise, Disney did confirm it will feature fireworks, fountains, lasers and lighting effects -- all the works.
I was a huge fan of EPCOT's previous show Harmonious which featured dazzling water effects and visuals, but also came with massive barges that were major eyesores during the day. We don't know if Luminous The Symphony of Us will have any sort of similar gimmick or if it will be more of a straightforward water, laser and fireworks show.
I loved the emphasis of cultural diversity with Harmonious and how it touched on all the major countries around the world. Based on the title of this new show -- specifically "The Symphony of Us" -- I'm going to assume it will have similar emphasis on uniting the nations.
Walt Disney World President Jeff Vahle teased it "is going to touch your heart."
Luminous The Symphony of Us is set to debut at EPCOT on December 5 of this year. I'm sure we'll learn more details about the upcoming nighttime spectacular. Are you excited for the return of a proper nighttime show at EPCOT?
