It's safe to say that just about everyone (with or without Disney+) is familiar with Bluey. The little dog from Down Under has dominated screens for years, but now the Heeler clan has found a new way to warm their way into our homes.
Along with a new collaboration with the Walt Disney Company and the Disney Parks, Ludo Studio recently entered a partnership with LEGO, one of the biggest toy brands on the market. As exciting as this development is, many wondered what our favorite pups would look like in LEGO form. Today, the wait is over.
This episode of Bluey is called "Build Mode!"
Shared across both Bluey and LEGO's social media pages, a sneak peek at the new Bluey LEGO sets gave fans a glimpse at the blockified world of our favorite cartoon canines. While maybe not the large builds some fans were expecting (as seen in earlier teasers), the new Minifigs carry the show's same flavor of whimsy.
With Bluey, Bingo, and all the rest making it into the Disney Parks earlier this year, and even a full-length feature film in the works, it makes perfect sense that other big brands would want a piece of the big bluey pie. Of course, the mouse has always had first pick.
In this writer's opinion, Bluey creator Joe Brumm and the rest of the talented team at Ludo have just scored one of the biggest fanbases they could possibly connect with. LEGO is a name recognized by millions, and there are several collectors and Master Builders of all ages who would be more than up for the challenge of constructing the Heeler house and more.
Disney is already the crown jewel, but since so many pop culture icons, from Star Wars to Marvel to even the Beatles, have been immortalized in LEGO, it was only a matter of time before the blue crew got their chance. Builders everywhere will have a chance to get their paws on these sets when the line launches this June.
Bluey and all her episodes can be streamed on Disney+ and ABC iView.
